It was ten o'clock at night. The city streets were deserted.

A delivery boy named Hassan was returning home on his motorbike. He was tired after working all day in the rain. He had only enough money left in his pocket to buy petrol or eat.

He was thinking this when he saw a small hotel ahead. An elderly man was shivering from the cold at the door of the hotel. An empty cup was placed in front of him — someone had probably been waiting for hours.

Hassan’s steps stopped automatically. He looked in his pocket — only a hundred rupees. His heart said, “Fill your stomach, tomorrow is another day…”

But the next moment something else happened. He went inside, ordered two cups of tea, and placed one in front of the old man.

The old man looked at Hassan in surprise, then said with a slight sigh:

“Son, I can’t feel my hands anymore, but you made my heart warm.”

Hassan didn’t say anything — he just smiled. All the way home he kept thinking that maybe the real richness wasn’t in filling his stomach, but in filling someone else’s heart with happiness.

When he got back on his bike, raindrops fell on his face, but the sun had risen inside his heart.
